About Everett Performance
Who would have ever thought that Paul, building his first dinghy in 1968, would have resulted in where he is today?
After 33 years of boat manufacturing, which included product development, dealer development, boat rigging, racing and restoration. Paul Everett was ready for a change. Racing had a significant impact on the future for Paul as it influenced him to focus on the high performance segment of the market. Paul built 15' Scorpion outboards and raced E and F class as a teenager during the 70's. In the mid-80's Paul started racing a 28' offshore Signature (the boat War Eagle). During the late 80's and early 90's Paul developed a 32' offshore V-hull named Caiman (boat B-70) which took nothing less than a single 3rd place the entire season. Performance was always first and foremost in Paul's mind.
Looking to the future for a boat which was faster, safer and built lighter and stronger, Paul knew the next step was a new technology, a Step Bottom. A Marine architect, Harry Scholl's task was to develop a new bottom designed after the dual-delta conic design. The new 30' cat was Designed by Harry and built by Paul. The end product was an innovative boat with outstanding performance. The 30' cat was never raced due to rule changes, but one never knows.
Paul often thought while rigging his boats and dealing with certain suppliers of performance products "Why were some suppliers so difficult to deal with?" It wasn't until one supplier told Paul while rigging the new cat and having problems with the suppliers part that "we don't make mistakes", "you must be doing something wrong" and "you don't know what you are doing." That was it! Enough is enough as they say! Coincidentally at that same time Paul had been introduced to Mr. Don Zeiger, of Zeiger Industries as a customer. Paul was restoring a 32' Skater for Don's turbine engine package.
Zeiger Industries and Don Zeiger have been making the worlds best stainless steel valves available for years and were already making proprietary parts for the marine industry.
Zeiger industries and Paul Everett formed a unique joint venture to focus on high performance marine products. Zeiger Industries are now known as Zeiger Marine Products. They are the most prominent manufacturer of high performance steering systems and stainless steel tilt helms in the industry. These systems are original equipment on many of today's high performance offshore boats.
The Zeiger Marine and Paul Everett Performance philosophy is simple: Manufacture the finest products possible with integrity to the satisfaction of each customer with exceeding quality at a reasonable price. Friendly, helpful customer service was always a given.
In addition to Zeiger Marine, Paul has formed alliances with United World Industries, Owens Technology, Isotta, Grand Products and Ahner Fabricating, who all provide quality marine products and can satisfy custom products required by most OEM's.
